Did someone say pudding?

I was in the mood for a snack but since I needed to going grocery shopping, all we had was some milk and chocolate pudding mix. So I thought perfect. The little man will enjoy this and he did.

This is the little man before the pudding.

This is the little man after eating some.

I think he had more fun playing in it then eating it.

Pictures from Saturday

What a beautiful day Saturday was we just had to get out and enjoy it.

Trying to walk.

Do you like the spike?

Taking a little rest.

Up on dads car.

Tired after a long day of fun.

Paint my world

One of my favorite things I let my little man do is paint. I know that he is going to get paint everywhere but the finished project makes it worth it. The one thing that surprises me the most is he does not try to eat the paint. Yesterday I let him paint at his picnic table.

I was a little worried that there was going to be paint all over the carpet but no. It was mostly on him. I put him in the bathtud to get all cleaned up and the water turned a rose color.

These two paintings are for his Great Grandpa and Great Aunts birthdays. My family is going to get tired of paints but it is a cute cheep present that has a little more meaning than a mass produced card from the store.

As the little man gets older we will get to do more fun and messy projects.

Sleeping like a baby

Yesterday morning was not very fun. My little man spent most of the morning crying. He was so tired but would not go to sleep and stay asleep. I tried rocking him, walking with him and even put him in the mei tai but nothing was really working. When I ran out of things to do I sat him down on the couch and started to fold laundry and before I knew it he was out.

Look at the couch lines on his face.

He slept there for about an hour. I did not want to move him but I also did not want to leave him there. So I thought it was time to move him to his bed. He slept there for a while longer.

When he did wake up he was so happy. But since he woke up from his nap at the time he normally takes a nap he was ready for bed at 7.

On the days that I plan to get things done around my house are the days that nothing gets done. Oh well, I would not change it for anything.

Crashing and more crashing

The boys after all the fun.

On Saturday we took a family trip to the fair to see the demo derby. We bundled all up in our nice winter coats to go out into the crazy spring weather. While at the fair it was sunny, rainy, cloudy and there was even a few ice showers. But we had so much fun watching all the cars crash into each other.

My little man waiting for the cars to start crashing.

But all the waiting got to him and he needed to crash himself shortly after the show started.

When all the loud v6 cars came out he was up and ready for the action. The little man did really well with all the noise and the cold weather. Of course he had a little help from mom.

Who are those two old people in the back of the picture? They are Grandma and Grandpa. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the extra fun night and for the use of the camera.

Poor womens baby proofing

Since little man has become mobile (now almost walking) I have needed to do something about our unfinished kitchen with out spending money that we don't have. We only have 3 sets of cabinets that have doors on them so I had to be creative.

I have placed rubber bands on the knobs so the little man cant get into them. I had a cabinet that he was able to get into but I had to block it off when he started eating the jello boxes and dumping pasta on the floor.
With my other challenge of not having doors I placed items in them that he cant hurt (and that wont hurt him). I also placed all of his small items like child size spoons, sippy cups and wash cloths in baskets placed all the way to the back of the shelf. I am enjoying the challenge and love being creative. Soon he will be walking and I will have a new challenge.

Watch out for the CAN!

Today I did a BIG no no. I put a 6 foot long scratch in the passengers side of our new car. I was backing into the drive way and accidentally hit the garbage can. When I got out of the car and looked at it I was amazed that a cheep, plastic garbage can would scratch the car as much as it did and not even make a sound. Well life goes on. I think that I learned my lesson: Watch out for garbage day it can put a big dent in your week.

Yummy sand!!!

We took a nice little trip to the ocean on Saturday with our family, my hubby's parents and our niece. It was the little mans first time in the sand and at the ocean. He seemed to have lots of fun.

It was pretty windy but about 76 degrees, so it was not cold. I tried to keep a sun hat on the little man but the wind kept blowing it off, so he had to wear his puppy beanie.

The little man enjoyed a few hand fulls of sand and tried to eat a rock.

But we all still managed to have fun. Summer is just around the corner so hopefully we will make it to the beach a few more times then we did last year.

Living outside the box

This morning while trying to feed the little man breakfast I managed to do this.

Yes those are Kix all over the floor, and this is what the little man thought of the whole thing.

I guess it was funny. There was at least two cups all over the floor. What a way to start the day.

Later on while the little man was playing and exploring the house he face planted the floor. When my husband got over to him there was blood on his lip. When he fell he bit his lip. Last week he had a fat lip and now this week he has another one.

Reaching for the stars

My little man has learned to climb. He thinks he should be able to climb on everything; his toys, the couch, his high chair, the picnic table, and even me. I don't know if this is just another boy thing that he is going to do no matter what or if it is just a faze. His favorite thing of all time to climb is the stairs. We only have two steps in our house and they are just not good enough for him, he needs more. At my moms house that is one of the only places he wants to play. Yesterday at the park he climbed all the way up the steps of the big toy. He was about seven feet off the ground and did not care. Today when we were at the doctor he saw the stairs and freaked out. He does a great job going up them but does not do as well going down. He knows that he has to go feet first but has not realized that there is this thing called gravity pulling him down. Maybe for his birthday he will get a climbing toy. This summer I guess we will just hang out outside and climb, while I work on my tan.
