Oh no

Yesterday just before bed he was playing in his play room and I was in the kitchen doing dishes (like always) when he came running down the hall yelling "oh no". The first thing that I thought of was he went pee pee in his pants (that is wat he says when he has an accident). But at first glance they were dry. So I asked him where is the oh no. He went running back into the playroom and there on his picnic table was a puddle. No it was not what you were thinking it was just water from his cup. He had knocked his big boy cup over and wanted me to get him a rag so he could clean it up.

If you have not been over in a while or ever you have not seen what the playroom looks like so I added a few pictures of it when it is clean. I had to store away two boxes of toys, two riding cars and a rocking horse to fit his climbing toy in the room.

Elmo

At 17 months I did not think my son would become attached to a cartoon character since he does not really watch much TV, but he is. He loves Elmo. Anything that has big eyes or is red is called "mell-mo".

Today we were driving in the car and he was playing with a little Grover toy (pictured below with the underwear). He gave it a big hug, rocked it in his arms and called it "mell-mo". He than began to kiss it over and over again. It was so cute I wanted to pull over on the side of the freeway and take a picture.

He also has so many pairs of Elmo underwear that there is no reason that he cant wear Elmo everyday. Sometimes when he is wearing Elmo underwear he points to the Elmo in the front and says "mell-mo". The fist time he did it around my hubby he got all worried that he is going to start calling his pee pee Elmo.

Just a few of the many pairs underwear

Today when we were out at the thrift store I found him an Elmo Halloween outfit for 99 cents.

My wonderful view

I was standing at the sink doing the dishes and looking out the window. It was such a wonderful view I just had to take a picture.

And when I turned around I saw the best view in the world.

Thank you Grandma

The little mans Grandma (my Mom) made him a new blanket and cute pumpkin hat. He is not quite sure about the blanket. He still wants to have his other one and if he does want to carry around the new one the has to have the original one also. I dont think we will ever be able to replace the original blanket but it is nice to have a back up.
The original and the new blankets

As for the pumpkin hat he does not like it. I think that it is so cute but he will not keep it on his head (its not just this hat it is every hat right now). I was able to get one OK picture of him in it.

Just before it came off

Thank you Grandma for the gifts they are very thoughtful.

Wet outside but dry inside

I guess yesterday we got our first fall rain. The little man and I really enjoyed it. We sat at the window and watched everything get all wet and when it stopped raining we put on our "puddle" boots and went splashing in the water. Our new sky lights that my hubby and his father put in a few weeks ago did not leak either. Wahoo!!! Bring on the rain.

Also the little man had his first day with any accidents yesterday!!!!!! Even when we were out and about when he was in the nursery at church. When he woke up from his nap dry I thought to myself "WOW, he as been dry all day" but I did not want to say it out loud because I thought I would jinks myself. Hopefully today it will only be wet outside again.

Showing off his very cool elmo underwear (one of the few that fit him)

Underwear

We are on day three of underwear. All is going well.
Day one- started with many accidents in the morning and he did not care that he wet all the way down his leg.
Day two- started off great. No accidents until 0ne pm than there were three in a row. After the three accidents than he was dry for the rest of the day.
Day three- we will see how it goes. We have already made two successful trips to the potty.
I will try and post some pictures later. I have not really had time to get out the camara in a few days.

number two

Well after 2 months of trying he got it. He knows that he needs to go number two in the potty!!! We have had three days of him saying/ signing potty and then running into the bathroom and going in the toilet. He is doing well with peeing on the potty also. He knows when he has to go but sometimes he will start to go in his pants and then remember he has to go on the potty and other times he tells me right after he goes. Maybe soon we will be done with diapers.
