Look what we made

Yesterday the little man and I made a fort. A few night ago we were playing around in our bed pulling the covers over his head. He was having fun he even asked for elmo to come join him but it was bed time so I told him next time elmo could join us. So as soon as our fort was built he went and got elmo and we had breakfast in the tent.
He even tried to feed elmo some of his apple
He enjoyed it so much it is still set up.
I also made something else. I knitted the little man a hat. I was so inspired by my scarf that I needed to start a new knitting project. I did not know what to make but I found two different types of green yarn and just started knitting. I knew I wanted to do stripes but that was all I knew. It was not until this afternoon that I knew that it was going to be a hat. So here it is. It is not perfect but neither am I.

I think that the little man might like it

I finally finished one

After many, many months I have finally finished a knitting project. It may not be pretty or functional but I made it. It was going to be a scarf. I decided to use 1 1/2 inch strips of fabric instead of yarn so that it would hide all of my flaws. I think that it would of looked good if it was twice as long, but I ran out of fabric. Now I guess it will have to be a blanket for the little mans baby dolls or maybe a dish towel. What ever it becomes I will always know that it was my first thing I ever knitted all the way through and I guess I am proud of that.

The little thought it made a great pillow

What did we do before cell phones?

My boys on there phones

One of the little mans favorite toys is his cell phones. He has about five (no joke). My hubby and I just got new phones about 3 weeks ago and he was in heaven in the phone store. There was a big fit when we left but he cheered right up when he got to play with our old phones. He even knows what button to push to make it turn on if we hand him our phones turned off. Sometimes I think he knows more about my phone than I do. But it is so cute to see him walking around the house talking to whoever it is on the other end.

Some of his other favorite toys (that are not toys) are-

remotes

keys (but dont all kids)

the radio

the buttons on the bread maker

the buttons on the dish washer

hair brushes

calculators

What are some of your kids favorite toys (that are not toys)?

The difference a year makes

Thanksgiving day has come and gone.
I guess I did an OK job on my first Thanksgiving dinner. I dont know if I am going to host it next year. I ONLY forgot to make the broccoli salad, cought the oven on fire and put way too much sugar in the whip cream. I could not of done it with out my Sister or my Mom. We will be eating turkey for weeks. We cooked a 22 lb bird. I think I am going to grow feathers and start saying gobble, gobble before we eat all of this turkey. It was a great low key evening. The kid played well with each other and the Little man did not pee his pants!!!
In years past my hubby spends the day after putting up tons and tons of lights (over a week or more) but this year we only put up a few strans (thanks to the economy).
Here are a few pictures to compare from last year.

Turkey, turkey

It has been a long week getting ready for Thanksgiving. It is hard to clean house with the little man making a mess faster than I can clean. Well I guess my house is as clean as it is going to be.

While cleaning I came across a little turkey left by my little turkey.
I will have to post later about how my first Thanksgiving dinner went.
Have a great turkey day.

Asleep on the job

This weekend the little man was standing on a stool by the front door looking out the window. When he went to get off he fill into the living room and hit his chin on the hard wood floor. He started screaming and before I knew it there was blood coming from his mouth. When I was able to get a look into his mouth I saw that he bit both sides of his tounge. On Sunday morning he work up in bed with us and we noticed that he had a big bruise under his chin. In this picture that I took today you can really see the bruise.

He was so grumpy and tired today the only thing that kept him happy was for me to hold him. So I put him in the wrap and did the dishes. Before I was even done with them he was sound asleep. It was only 10:30 in the morning. So he slept until about 12:30. Since he did not have a "normal" nap he was asleep for the night before 8pm. (The has got to be a recorded in our house)

Legs

A month ago I bought a set of baby legs from Target. I really liked them but they were not on the little man longer than 5 minutes when he had an accident. I could not afford to buy a whole bunch of them so I started looking around the internet. I came across this blog and she talked about how to make your own. I also found a pair of leg warmers for $3 that work great. He likes them the best because they are so soft. So now I have six pairs. It is so nice to not have to put pants on and off all day.
