We love our men (and women) in blue

I was in shock to say the least yesterday when I heard the horrible news that four more of our local police officers we shot and killed just for being cops.
Less than a month ago there was another officer killed in Seattle.
So here is to our men and women in blue. Thank you for all that you do.

(The little man sporting his police officer pajamas and a potato head dressed like an officer also)

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of
Sgt. Mark Renninger
Officer Ronald Owens
Officer Tina Griswold
Officer Greg Richards
Officer Timothy Brenton

Thankful

I am thankful for...

All of my wonderful friends and family that have such warm hearts and helping hands. It has been a rough few month and I know that it has been all of you that have helped to get through.

My hubby. I know that the past few months have been really hard on you as the provider. I thank you very much for staying positive (most of the time). You have not let not having a job get the best of you. We keep holding on knowing that the perfect job is out there for you some where.

My little man. With you there is never a dull moment. I just cant help but smile when I look at you. I cant believe how fast you are growing up. It brings tears to my eyes. I love to watch and help you grow into a wonderful young man.

The bun. Some may look at this pregnancy as horrible timing but with God there is no horrible timing, only his timing. You remind me everyday to slow down because before I know it you will be there and there will be any time for rest.

What the future holds. I am pretty sure that we have made it through the worst of times so the only way is up from here. This coming year there is so much to look forward to, I can put what we have been through in the past and move forward.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

The little man felt the baby kicking the other night. I told him that she was kicking him and his response was...
"Baby sister kicking me. Baby sister trying to get out."

A quick trip to the snow

Sunday after church we left to spent a few days up at the cabin and the snow.

It was pretty slippery drive up there. There was one spot on the hill that I thought we were going to get stuck in but we made it up.

Monday was a beautiful day for playing in the snow.

The little man had a great time sledding. I went down the hill once with him but I was so out of breath by the time I made it back up I decide I was done sledding.

It was much easier for the hubby to take him sledding.

They also enjoyed ridding the quad around. There was not enough snow for the snow mobiles, so maybe next time.

After a long day of playing in the snow it was time for some nice warm split pea soup and hot coco.

This morning when we woke there was not much snow left. It had warmed up and rained all night.
The drive down the hill was another slippery one.
Maybe the next time we make it up there will be lots more snow to play in.

Where did Wednesday go

My goal for Wednesday was to post a new picture of my baby bump (it is getting bigger). But as you can tell that went out the window.

So what did I do all day yesterday...

I never got dressed
Tried to clean the house
Cleaned the bathroom because it really needed it after the little man managed to pee all over it TWICE yesterday
Made some phone calls
Helped the hubby work on the truck
Baked
Made pumpkin puree
Made breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Washed some laundry
and I still managed to find some time to start and finish a new knitting project.

But the funny thing is...

I am still not dressed
The house is not clean
The bathroom smells like pee (again)
My tummy is telling me that it is breakfast time
There is still MORE laundry to be done, folded and put away
and I found a few more knitting patterns that are just calling my name.

This is just my life and I am loving it.

Life in our small town

When something big happens in a small town most of the town shows up. On Saturday our friends were getting an old house burnt down, on a piece of property that they own. We took a little walk down the street to watch the show. It was a little cold but pretty soon the flames were going and we felt the heat.

The firefighters took full advantage of this opportunity to use this as a learning experience and do some training.

Now every time we have gone past where the house once was the little man says "No firefighters burning the house today." We are also trying to help him understand that the firefighters job is to put out fires not start them.
I think that our next trip to the library we will have to find some more books on firefighters.

Good bye monster trucks

This was the view in the little mans 'old bedroom.' He had a monster truck theme, but we decided that the trucks would not do for a little girl.

The plan was to paint the room pink, but I came across a wallpaper border that matched the blue, green and brown walls. The hubby was really happy to not have to paint.

So here it is.

There is still a little work to get done in there. It should be done before she gets here, even though she wont use her room for a while. It is just nice to be getting things together.

As for the little man is really enjoying his new room.

A package for me

Today just after the little man went down for his nap there was a knock at the door. It was the UPS man with a package for me.
I was very excited.

Inside the package was 6 organic Bummis infant prefolds and a small pink super brite cover. Sent to me because I follow the Bummis blog and I entered a giveaway they were having and I won. This is the first thing that I have ever won that I know I will really use. Thank you Bummis.

Now I am just playing the waiting game to see how they are going to look on her bottom. I will try to remember to update in March on how they work.

There comes a time...

In every little boys life when it is time to get a first hair cut. That time came tonight.

The hubby and I have been talking about doing this for a while now, so tonight we decided to bite the bullet and do it. The little man was very happy. He has been asking every time I cut my hubby's hair for his to be cut also. So tonight his dream came true. He wanted us to use the clippers but I am just not ready to take that jump yet.

After watching a few videos on you tube we were ready. We pulled out the highchair. Gathered up a spray bottle, scissors, and a towel and we were ready. It was a tag team event. Daddy stared, Mommy went next and than daddy finished the trimming.

Now just maybe I wont have people come up to me now and say "what a cute little GIRL you have." But I am not going to hold my breath.

Not me Monday

On Thursday I did not come in to the kitchen to find the little man drinking from the carton of milk. That would of meant he opened the refrigerator, grabbed the open carton of milk, opened it and drank from if all by himself. He defiantly would not of seen me do something like that.

I also did not let him wear his Halloween costume two days in a row, Thursday and Friday. So when Halloween did come there was no way that he was going to put the costume back on. So this is not what he looked like on Halloween night.

He did not pick out the sun glasses because I wear glasses and he thinks that he should wear glasses also.

This is not what we were up to this weekend.
