We have a fence

Last Monday my Father-in-law and my husband started the fence around our pool. After eleven post holes dug and a half a dozen trips to Home Depot it is done and looks great. The fence has been three years in the works but my hubby was not motivated enough to do it until I told him that the little man wont be able to go swimming or watch anyone swim until the fence was done. Now that the fence is done he can start on the door knobs, kitchen cabinets, the trim and what ever else around the house that he still has not finished.

The little red fish helps keep the gate closed.

The little man says thank you Grandpa.

At the ocean

Out enjoying the wind and the waves

Our family took a short trip to the ocean this last weekend. We had a blast just relaxing with our friends and eating hot dogs cooked over the fire. This was just a little taste of all the fun that we are going to have this summer.

My little man is a big boy

My little man turned one this weekend. I just cant believe it. Where did the time go.
Here are some pictures of the crazy weekend.

Opening presents.

Eating wrapping paper. (Its not whats in the wrapping paper it is how it tastes)

Playing with his new wagon. (When he saw that it had wheels he knew it needed to go)

Eating cake. (He liked the cake)

My little cake monster.

I have noticed that since he is one I have even less time to do anything. It took me 4 days to type this blog and it is mostly pictures. Oh well, I am just living life and I am loving it.

Mommy and Me at the zoo

The little mans first time at the zoo.

Today we went to Mommy and Me a the the zoo as a family, but let me start at the beginning.

Yesterday my little man woke up with a fever. I did not think anything of it, I just thought it was from teething. At 11:30 am it was up to 103.7 which is a little on the high side for teething. I gave him some medicine but still did not think much of it because he was playing and being himself. At 5 pm I started to think something of it when the emptied his stomach all over himself, me and my friends couch. When we got home I gave him some more meds. and a cool bath. He now was not feeling well. I called my mom to get some reassurance that my son was going to be OK and we went on with our night. When it was bed time the little man did not want to sleep in his own bed so he slept with us, which means he slept but I did not. He was being so silly and sleeping with his feet up at our heads and his head at our feet.

It was a rough night. At about midnight I called the after hours nurse line. She told me that he was going to be OK and to not freak out. When we all finally got back to bed the rest of the night went well. When we got up in the morning I had decided that we were going to the doctor. When we got there at 9:30 am he was not running a fever and was acting normal. Oh but of course. When the doctor looked him over she could not tell us what was wrong with him. His ears looked great and his chest sounded good. So we paid $20 for her to tell use that our son was perfect which we already knew. So since there was nothing majorly wrong with the little man I had decided to still go to the zoo.

Now that I have you caught up I can talk about the zoo experience. My wonderful husband was in a "great" mood on the way there. There was lots of traffic, he did not have much sleep and when we got to the zoo there was no parking. We drove all around the parking lots but all we found was this 3/4's of a spot. Since we were in the Saturn we parked there. It would of been a whole spot if the person in the minivan next to us would of stayed in there spot. Once my husband climbed out on my side we were ready to go in, but he was still in a bad mood and now I was. We made it through the zoo saying very few words.

We did not see a ton of animals but it was a nice walk. I might try it again but next time we will come early and I will leave my husband at home if he is not in a good mood.

The little man got scared of the walrus and started crying.

Running, running, running

That is all I feel like I have been doing this past week. The little man has almost got brave enough to walk on his own. I guess whan he does that I will be doing even more running.
I have been trying to get everything together for his birthday party next Sunday. I herd on the news that the weather is going to be real nice. I am so glad because I was a little woried about having 50+ people inside of our house. Now I am just woried about the kids by the pool. My lovly husband still has not got a fence up. I think there will be so many other things to intertain the kids that hopefuly the pool will get ignored.
No pictures for today. I will try to post some of the zoo on Saturday. Well time to start the day and continue the race.

How to throw a fit

1. Start the screaming and crying.
2. Make sure there are real tears.
3. Try to play so Mom thinks you are done, but then get even more mad since that is not what you want.
4. Start hitting and throwing things. Push your toys away along with anything else you can find.
5. Crawl over to Mom since she is having trouble hearing you. Pull on her pants and scream louder.
6. Stop when you have moms attention and she picks you up. Repeat as often as needed.
